Bob & Janet Stevenson
Honorary Chair / Guest Arrangements
Janet introduced Bob to her horse world in the fall of 1959, Bob suggests it is the longest introduction he has ever experienced. That was her world then and continues today with sons Rob and Jon, Suzanne and Savannah and four grandchildren, Grace, Robbie, CC, and given time, Sylvie too.. Bob blames his mother in law the late Helen Campbell in a nice way, for the DNA that continues to surface.
The farm property comes through Janet’s father, DC “Chet” Campbell, he recognized the beauty of the valley, the availability of a fine hay crop and extensive pasture available for a large herd of Hereford cattle and an unlimited water supply. DCC left it to the next generations to repurpose and enjoy. Enter Rob and Suzanne, with support from Jon and Savannah and Rob’s dream was converted to reality with FI 2018.
Janet and Bob have a deep understanding and appreciation that success has many fathers, mothers and in this case, a brother and two wonderful daughters in law. Add to the family mix, 150 or so volunteers, many contractors, vendors, friends of Foshay Farms, Pony Club Alumnae, several surrounding communities, numerous sponsors and in kind contributors, a top course designer / builder, the best officials in the sport, high performance athletes and success is sure to happen, and it did!
Event DirectorSam was first introduced to eventing at the Rothesay pony club in 2002 and has never looked back. Having competed in Canada and throughout the US, Sam was also a working student for four star eventer Adrienne Iorio in the hub of eventing in Aiken SC. Now a trainer and Certified Equine Canada Instructor, Sam brings her passion for eventing and her career in Marketing to her role as Event Director for Foshay International.
X-Country ControlNicholas Austin opened his first dressage gate as a volunteer after he was told by the TD, a very stern Minna Renz that: “If you were not going to ride at an event then you can help make it safe, fair and fun for the competitors”. Since then he has been involved with the sport having, along the way, been fortunate enough to have volunteered at the Montreal Olympic test event, Atlanta and the 2016 Pan Ams. He has his ridden in one event and decided, like parachuting, it is an odd way to get your jollies!

Volunteer CoordinatorAlanna Palmer has been a Canadian Pony Club member, parent, District Commissioner, Regional Chair and recipient of its 2001 National Chair’s Award for Volunteer Service. Happily retired from a career in business management, she is now the proud owner of an OTTB eventer-in-training.
Stabling Coordinator/ Show Office AssistantAt an early age I caught the love for horses. I participated in the Annapolis Pony Club, testing at the A level. Eventing became my passion, competing at the Prelim level which led me to meet Rob and Suzanne Stevenson in 2000. Over the years of schooling and becoming a cardiac/critical care nurse, the love of horses has remained strong. Very happy to be member of FIOC and give back to a horse community I have long been a part of.
